Why Choose a Change Therapy Retreat?
Even before I became a Therapist and Counsellor, I had always thought that when life is difficult the ideal thing to do is to get away from it all to somewhere where you can think clearly, work out what to do next and then go back and put it into action.
This could be further improved by having someone to help with the “thinking it through” part. Not just a friend who will empathise and kindly nod at the appropriate times, but rather someone who knows how to really help, such as a good Therapist or Counsellor.
Several years ago when life was hurling experience after experience at me and I was struggling to see the wood for tree's, this is something that I decided to do for myself. To find somewhere I could go and put some distance between me and all that was happening in my life whilst I gained clarity.
I started to look into it and see what was available, and quickly realised that my options were very limited and appeared to fall mainly into two categories -
They were either rather formal and clinical -
Counselling Retreats that were based on shared bedrooms and a “ strict therapeutic community” approach or alternatively they were high end executive Counselling/Coaching Retreats with strict schedules and timetables for busy high flying burnt out city executives.
Of course as everyone is unique, these are perfect for some people, however it did leave me wondering where could people like myself go when they just wanted to get away from it all to sort out their lives............and the thoughts I had back then have manifested into reality now.....
The concept of Change Therapy Retreats was born!
A Change Therapy Retreat is YOUR Therapy Retreat, a place for you to find peace, space, relaxation and calm whilst you are able to resolve difficult feelings and life situations, clarify your decision making, increase your confidence and general well being and find new ways forward in your life.

A Change Therapy Retreat will mean different things for different people.
For some people their Retreat is a an emotional journey letting go of baggage they have been carrying around - often for years, and starting the healing process.
For other people their personal Retreat is far more practical. It's about stepping off their busy, frenetic world. It's about having timeto breathe, and reawaken in a slower, quieter world so they can see the wood for the trees. It's about creating a plan to get you to where you want to go next.
With my help, you can explore the origins and consequences of your behaviour patterns and take these learnings forward into your present life.
This is truly a unique, life-changing experience to expand your life and let go of past experiences that stop you being the person you want to be.
Change Therapy Retreats run throughout the year and last for either one, three, five or seven days either in my beautiful bell tent on the mountainside in the stunning West Highlands of Scotland or in peaceful and tranquil locations elsewhere in the UK.
They are flexible and informal, your relaxation and inner peace being of paramount importance.
You will have personal therapy for approximately 3 hours per day (a combination of psychotherapy and/or counselling and/or clinical hypnotherapy), which will leave you plenty of quiet time to reflect, contemplate, introspect and define.
Please note one day Retreats are constructed differently and we will be working throughout the day.
You are also more than welcome to join me on walks and share the beautiful surrounding area, or you may wish to use the time to read, explore, or just be "in the moment". The choice is always yours.
And because I want you to get the absolute maximum from this time and I believe it is paramount to continue to support you when your Retreat has finished, I will continue to give you weekly online email support for four weeks once you return (There is no extra cost for this).
Please note that Change Therapy Retreats are bespoke for each individual, and accommodation costs may vary according to the season, therefore there is not a fixed price list.
The cost will include:
your psychotherapy/hypnotherapy/counselling sessions
simple meals (breakfast, lunch or dinner); and
drinks throughout the day.
